We’ve already rounded up just some of the shows you need to see in 2024 but what about the vast variety of UK tours that will head across the country? We are spoilt for choice in the coming 12 months, and we’ve only picked out 17 of the ones we’re particularly excited for in today’s guide to the top UK tours to see in 2024.
BONNIE AND CLYDE
From 22 February
This one proved to be very popular with fans during its run at the Garrick earlier this year, and it’s now been confirmed that Bonnie and Clyde are heading out on a much anticipated UK tour. You can catch the outlaws at a theatre near you from February.
DEAR EVAN HANSEN
From 9 September
Fans who despaired when it closed last year can finally rejoice, because Dear Evan Hansen is back in a new version of the musical from Nottingham’s Artistic Director Adam Penford and with the original score from Pasek and Paul.
& JULIET
From 8 July
Not just a hit in the West End (but Broadway too!) &Juliet heads out on its first national tour in the UK in 2024. This musical flips the script on the greatest love story ever told, with an unforgettable musical score to help it along the way!
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
From 1 March
A revival of the grisly classic show Little Shop of Horrors finally returns to the stage in 2024. Kicking off in Ipswich, this new co-production will head out on a national tour too!
THE SYNDICATE
From 11 April
Late Kay Mellor’s final stage endeavour, The Syndicate will head out for a limited 15-week tour in Spring. The play is based on the popular BBC One drama series that spanned across four seasons. The cast includes Gaynor Faye, Max George, Brooke Vincent and Samantha Giles.
101 DALMATIANS
From 24 June
Direct from a run at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, a stage adaptation of Dodie Smith’s beloved novel which also had success with several Disney blockbuster films. This is certainly one to keep your eye on in 2024!
BOOK OF MORMON
From 11 September
Embarking on another spout of missionaries in the UK is the hit musical The Book of Mormon. The highly celebrated West End hit is heading to Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham.
GREASE
From 12 April
After two smash-hit runs in the West End, Grease embarks on a UK tour in 2024. Directed by Curve’s Artistic Director Nikolai Foster, enjoy one of the greatest musicals of all time.
CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG
From 30 April
A brand-new production of the beloved family favourite Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is back! Bursting at the seams with unforgettable songs by the Sherman Brothers including ‘Hushabye Mountain’ and the Academy Award-nominated title song, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be perfect for audiences of all ages.
A CHORUS LINE
From 28 June
The Chorus Line is a musical masterpiece. Set in New York City in 1975, it tells the tale of seventeen performers who are put through their paces to audition for a new Broadway musical. A huge hit in Leicester a couple of years ago and we’re thrilled the UK tour will give more audiences a chance to see it for themselves!
ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES
From 14 October
The critically acclaimed British musical, based on Britain’s best-loved TV series from John Sullivan is heading out on tour. The show features cherished material, written by John’s son Jim Sullivan and comedy giant Paul Whitehouse. With 20 hilarious songs also in there - Only Fools and Horses will be lots of fun to see on its tour!
LES MIS: THE ARENA SPECTACULAR TOUR
From 19 September
The beloved musical phenomenon celebrates 39 years in London in 2024 and what a way to celebrate than with a World Tour, including strictly limited dates in the UK.
NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL A MUSICAL
From 6 Sept
Embark on a journey down memory lane with Now That’s What I Call A Musical, a brand-new production written by Pippa Evans and choreographed by Craig Revel Horwood. It features an unbeatable soundtrack, showstopping choreography and an original story set in Birmingham.
HAIRSPRAY
From 16 July
The smash hit musical comedy which has broken box office records and delighted audiences in the West End, on Broadway and the big screen since 1988 is back on a UK tour. Directed by Paul Kerryson and Brenda Edwards, Hairspray kicks off in the summer!
AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN
From 23 February
The timeless story of love, courage and redemption heads out on a UK tour in 2024. An Officer and a Gentleman The Musical is based on the award-winning 80s movie and the soundtrack includes smash-hits from Madonna, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper and many more!
MINORITY REPORT
From 16 Feb
Philip K. Dick’s near-future novella will have its world premiere stage adaptation on a UK tour, kicking off in Nottingham during the spring. The novel was made famous globally thanks to the 2022 blockbuster movie by Steven Spielberg. We can’t wait to see how this futuristic thriller transfers to the stage!
COME FROM AWAY
From 1 March
After its closure in the West End after a total of 1048 performances, Come From Away will embark on a UK tour in 2023 and there is a collective sigh of relief that this international hit musical is back in the country! The true story about 7,000 stranded passengers in one small town will stay with you long after you leave the auditorium! A must-see in 2024!
From the likes of Hairspray, Come From Away and An Officer and a Gentleman The Musical - 2024 will be a cracking good year for regional theatres and we cannot wait!
