Beech Hill Hotel & Spa, Lake Windermere.
It's not often that you are given the opportunity to revisit a fantastic hotel to review. So being able to check out Beech Hill Hotel and Spa in Lake Windermere for the second time within months this year was incredible. I was delighted to see whether I'd give it as much of a high recommendation as I did back in April time this time around.
Beech Hill Hotel and Spa is a fantastic 4-star hotel that overlooks the eastern bank of Lake Windermere, one of the most beautiful spots within the Lake District. If you look over the horizon of the lake you have a perfect view of the Western Fells and you instantly feel relaxed from this alone.
The location of the hotel is easy to locate and incredibly accessible by car. There is a spacious car park for you to park overnight and it was busier than when we last visited too! The hotel is comfortable and vast, there are great spaces to enjoy a drink whilst admiring the view but the restaurant also offers incredibly tasty food too!
When we previously visited Beech HIll we noted their biggest selling point, the outdoor hot tub. Lakeview Spa is the hotel's onsite spa facilities and the jacuzzi offers a panoramic view of Lake Windermere like no other. It really is a place to escape like no other.
STAYING AT THE BEECH HILL HOTEL.
The hotel has 57 different rooms on site, ranging from luxury suits to premier and family rooms. They have something available for everyone to enjoy though I would definitely ask about their disability access, although I do think they could provide this for you. Many of the rooms come with their unique view overlooking the lake. There was nothing like waking up and opening up the curtains to those views!
Our view this time around was far better than we had imagined and we still managed to get something which was just as breathtaking.
Our room was stunning, modern designed and extremely spacious room. All rooms at the hotel come with an en-suite bathroom with power shower and bath. There's also a flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi (our Wi-Fi wasn't too bad in this room in comparison to last time when our access was better in the more communal area than our room), hairdryer, tea making facilities and room service available until 8.30pm. Our room this time had the additions of a sofa where we could kick back and enjoy the TV, though probably not the best placed because we had to turn our heads to the left in order to see the TV. We also had a small balcony area which was fantastic and where we could enjoy the incredible view whilst sipping on some wine if we really wanted to!
Our bed this time wasn't as comfortable as the last and my back didn't feel too great in the morning. It was the only downside of our stay and unfortunate on this occasion.
LAKEVIEW SPA
The Lakeview Spa is located to the South of the hotel, in the ideal location to overlook the lake. The spa offers two spa treatment rooms, a Himalayan sauna, an aromatic steam room, and a 40 ft indoor pool. Outside is an outside vitality spa pool (jacuzzi) surrounded by sun loungers. The spa is incredibly intimate and private, giving you the perfect space and atmosphere for some well-needed rnr.
This time around the spa was quite busy upon our visit so do bear this in mind. However, nobody distributed one another and it was still a relaxing experience. You were able to enjoy the facilities at your own pace which was super lovely and notable. I enjoyed taking 10 minutes to enjoy the aromatic steam room, a swim in the 40ft indoor pool and then warming up in the jacuzzi outside. I could have sat and soaked up everything around me in the jacuzzi for hours.
The jacuzzi is great and can fit up to 6 people comfortably. We took full advantage of these facilities in the morning of our stay as it meant there weren't many people around. I was able to enjoy taking in all of the fresh air and allowing my body to have the best kind of wake up call.
DINING AT BURLINGTON'S RESTAURANT
The hotel's in-house restaurant, Burlington's has held AA rosettes for the last 20 years, building up quite the reputation for outstanding food and service. A 2-course dinner here starts at just £26.95. You could not fault the attentive and approachable manner of the staff who paid great attention to us throughout our dining experience.
Whilst we enjoyed sipping on our drinks and watching the sunset beside us over the lake, we tried to decide on our 3-course dinner. The waiting staff quickly brought us over some of their appetizer-sized canapes to begin.
My starter was a delicious Tuna Fillet that was accompanied by some vegetables (of which I can't remember). The dish was full of flavour and really enjoyable. Jordan's duck dish looked rather tasty too!
The main course was comforting and full of flavour. I decided to try something different and went for their Fillet Steak (came with a supplement cost). The steak was served with chips, some crunchy vegetables and a garlic mushroom sauce. I had my steak cooked Medium Rare and it was incredibly tender and accompanied well by the choice of sauce. It was well served and the dauphinoise was well cooked, with a slight crisp to them. Jordan really enjoyed this dish on his last visit so again went and ordered the Roast Salmon Supreme dish. The salmon was cooked to perfection and finished off with new potatoes, petit pois, sweet gem lettuce and pancetta in a warm aioli sauce.
Of course, we made room for desserts and I'm so glad we did because they were delicious! I needed to fix my sweet tooth so I went for a Hot Chocolate Fondant which is every chocoholic's dream and Jordan enjoyed dining on the Chilled Vanilla Egg Custard Creme Brulee again!
I would most definitely revisit the hotel if it was just for the incredible food from Burlington's. In the morning they put on a breakfast feast fit for a king. If you were still feeling hungry after the meal the previous evening then you would definitely enjoy the range of breakfast foods the hotel has to offer you.
Also, don't forget to take a walk down the back of the hotel where you can sit and admire an up-close view of Lake Windermere. If you want to explore Lake Windermere further or do something exciting then check out Wake Nation. Wake Nation offer private boat charters with skipper, wakeboarding and wakesurfing right on the hotel's doorstep.
My visit to Beech Hill Hotel and Spa was just as good as the first and I will most certainly be revisiting in the future. It's the one hotel that I am constantly recommending to people if they're looking to head up to the Lake District. Their room prices are affordable and it's the perfect blend of comfort and luxury needed for a weekend break.

*complimentary one night stay with spa access in return for an honest blog review. Dinner and breakfast were included but we paid for our own extras. All opinions are my own.
If you enjoyed reading about my stay at Beech Hill Hotel and Spa, you may also enjoy reading about my stay at the Plough at Lupton, Cumbria. It's another fantastic hotel in the Lake District.
