ZSL London Zoo with Attraction Tix*

I've been to London a lot of times in my lifetime, usually visiting to take in the smells and tastes of Camden Market, shopping along Oxford Street or heading to see one of the London's West End shows. I've visited a few of London's attractions but never been to ZSL London Zoo before, so when Attraction Tix* invited me to check it out for myself it was the perfect opportunity for me and Jordan to take a well-needed day out.

Attraction Tix is an online ticket specialist for attractions around the world, making it their main priority for you to enjoy yourself as much as possible. The site offers the opportunity to enjoy well-known city attractions, theme parks and other great experiences including Disneyland Paris, Siam Park and visiting places like ZSL London Zoo, all at affordable prices.

ZSL London Zoo is situated on the northern edge of The Regent's Park, it's a lovely 20-minute walk alongside the canal near Camden Market if the weather is great too. The Zoo houses a collection of 755 species of animals, making it one of the largest collections within the UK. It's also the world's oldest scientific zoo. Before it opened to the public in 1847 the zoo only allowed fellows of the Society to access the Zoo for scientific study.

The Zoo is extremely large and has lots of stuff for everyone in the family to enjoy, get up and close to some of the world's most incredible species. Some of what is on offer to see are their family of Sumatran tigers in the Tiger Terrority and the Penguins within the Penguin Beach. As well as that they even have a fab area of bugs, we loved watching the ant's transport pieces of the leaf along the trail of rope to their destination. Additions like that made it a great place to spend the day, with so much for young people to check out and be memorised by. Their vast variety of animal species made the visit thoroughly enjoyable and different to Zoo's I have visited previously. Of course, I also checked out the Zoo's Reptile House, you will have seen in the first Harry Potter film and was such a highlight to see!

There's just so much to do whilst visiting the Zoo as much as there are things to see. You can also make the most of your time at ZSL London by getting involved with the daily events, feeds and demonstrations. On our visit, we headed to the Amphitheatre to check out the Animals in Action event showing us a multiple species showing off their special skills, including a small owl as well an animal who was related to lemurs and was in a very cheeky mood! There's so much on throughout the day that you'll be spoilt for choice.

The Zoo also give some fabulous experiences, you can get up and close and meet the animals, become a zookeeper for the day (which is a dream opportunity for me btw, heads up!), sleepover in the Gir Lion Lodge and even photography workshops! There is really something for everyone to enjoy.

I absolutely loved my time at the ZSL London Zoo, my feet definitely hurt from the amount of walking we had to do during the day. The only downside to the entire day was that we didn't have the chance to see everything within the Zoo, I would definitely recommend that if you are to visit then to make sure you arrive from the morning to get the most from the attraction and everything it has to offer.

If you're heading on a trip soon then I would definitely check out Attraction Tix.
